Suit Up!

Featured

Hello Southernistas! I hope everyone has had a good week and that you are keeping warm. Here in North Carolina the week started out in the 60s but it is not freezing!

Southernistas there is nothing like a suit! I had forgotten how wonderful and versatile a suit can be and how timeless they are too. I think my main reason for avoiding suits for so long is because when I think of suits I think about the suits from the 80s shoulder pads and all (shudder) but that is not the case anymore. This week I rediscovered the power of a great suit. The great thing about a suit is that it instantly makes you feel stylish and pulled together. It gives you a polished and effortless look plus total girl boss vibes! You don’t have to go out a buy a suit if you have a great blazer and cute skirt voila you have a suit! Which is what I did with this outfit I paired this blazer from Lane Bryant with this cute skirt also from Lane Bryant and since we’ve had nothing but gray skies recently I wore this ultra feminine lavender floral top and I felt ready to go forth and conquer.

Suits never really go out of style but they are having their fashion moment. With a suit you can mix and match with pieces in your closet to create several different looks. So in the words of Barney from How I Met Your Mother….SUIT UP!

Unit next time Southernistas! Have a great weekend and remember to Be Bold, Be Beautiful, Be Confident!

A Little Sparkle

Hey Y’all! Hope everyone had a great weekend. I had a fun weekend spending time with my 14 year old niece and my Mom for some girl time.

This past week started really rough for me I was sick for two days and both days I drug myself into work because a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do! This girl has to make money to feed her shopping addiction. As the week went on I started to feel better. By Thursday I was 100% and knew this caused for come sparkle so I decided to breakout this beautiful sequin skirt I got from Eloquii last year and I paired it with this green top I received in one of my Dia & Co boxes. I decided to keep my accessories neutral so I work this nude Mary Jane heels from Shoe Carnival and my Nine West Tote. When I walked out the door that morning I knew my sparkle was on again. Now you might think sequins are for the holidays but they are not just for the holidays and they can be incorporated in your wardrobe. You may work in an office setting where you can’t go full on sequins but think about outside the office when you are getting together with your girls for a night out or even just going to the grocery store. There is nothing like a little sparkle to perk up your day!

Just Being Pretty

Hey Y’all! Hope your weekend was been a great weekend.

If there is one thing I love is it’s how I feel when I am wearing a dress. I feel so pretty and feminine. My sister said this to me a few months ago when I was assisting her and after my failed efforts she said to me “you just be pretty” and it has stuck with me months later. There is nothing like putting on that outfit that just makes you feel so pretty and especially this time of the year!

When I got this beautiful London Times dress in my latest Dia box I knew this dress would make me feel so pretty and feminine. You can’t go wrong with a floral dress when you want to feel all girly. Remember being pretty is how an outfit makes you feel and not what a scale says.

So today I encourage you on this week to just be pretty!
